“You've never looked at yourself in the mirror and said, 'You let me down.' Until you get to that point, YOU let you down.” - Eric Thomas
Question to think about as we get ready for another week: Why do we demand guarantees from others, yet we rarely hold ourselves to the same standard?
We're quick to seek refunds or restitution if external promises fall short, but how often do we demand excellence from the person staring back at us in the mirror?
Now, before you get all worked up, this isn't a call for self-flagellation. We're not recommending you start each day taking a (figurative) kick to the balls.
❌ It's not about inflicting pain.
🎯 It's about embracing accountability.
Are you making guarantees to yourself? Are you setting goals or making plans and then letting yourself off the hook when you don't follow through?
We're all about extending ourselves a little grace. (The world would be a much better place if we all practiced that.) But there's a difference between being compassionate with yourself and allowing excuses to overshadow personal growth.
Watch the 30-second clip above, then take a sec and think about how you're holding yourself accountable.
Don't forget, the person in the mirror is the one who's gonna make it all happen.
